The Highland Community School District is once again partnering with the HACAP Food Reservoir Backpack Program to provide students with meals over the weekend and extended breaks.

The program, which was started by HACAP in 2006, provides food support to students who struggle with food insecurity while school is not in session. Students who are enrolled into the Backpack Program will be sent home with a bag of food including items such as macaroni and cheese, cereal, canned meals, fruit juice, and snacks. Items will be put in the students’ lockers or backpacks on Thursdays or Fridays.

Students are not required to be enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program to receive this food, and any questions can be directed to school nurse Cindy Peiffer at cpeiffer@highlandhuskies.org. To enroll your student in the HACAP Food Reservoir Backpack Program, click here.
