The Washington Demons had their best volleyball season in almost two decades, and that success was powered largely by the five players who have earned all-conference honors in 2023 as voted on by the coaches of the Southeast Conference.

That includes sophomore outside hitter Leighton Messinger not only being voted to the first team but also being named the 2023 Southeast Conference Player of the Year. Messinger led Washington with 343 kills and 43 serving aces while also piling up 250 digs and 15 blocked shots.

Demon junior hitter Ella Greiner is a second-team selection after compiling 187 kills, 36 aces and 271 digs. Junior setter Lauren Hinrichsen is also on the second team after dishing out a team-high 340 assists to go with 31 aces and 128 digs.

Honorable mentions go to seniors Remy Messinger and Maci Williams. Washington players earning academic all-conference include Greiner, Hinrichsen, Williams, Remy Messinger, Maya Murphy, Claire Robinson, Rachel Sands, Jade Sheetz, Claire Stadler, Ruby Witthoft, Jacey Berg, Caitlin Kroll and Rylee Libe. The Demons went 17-18 this season, their most wins since 2007.
