Multiple opportunities exist for southeast Iowa residents to get a quality Thanksgiving meal this holiday.
In Brighton, a free community dinner will be held at City Hall on Thursday, November 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hosted by the City, Tommy’s Helping Hands, JYD, and Hope Lutheran Church, the traditional Thanksgiving meal includes turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more available for dine-in or carry out. The Holy Family Parish is hosting its annual meal on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well. Also free, it will be held at Holy Trinity in Richmond, with any donations passed on to local charities. For more information, call 319-656-3276.
Winfield will have a free Thanksgiving meal as well, thanks to the Winfield Lions, who are serving from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Winfield Presbyterian Church. The menu consists of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, jello salad, and desert. Deliveries are available for Winfield residents with no reservation needed for dine-in.
