The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team turned their first road trip of the season into a business trip Friday, routing the Anamosa Blue Raiders on their home floor 69-30. The Hawks sprinted to a 16-7 lead through the first quarter and found themselves up 28-18 at half. Mid-Prairie put the game away by outscoring Anamosa 18-10 in the third and then officially closed the door by finishing the game on a 23-2 run that spanned the entire final period. The Hawks shot 44% from the floor and 53% from downtown, knocking down nine threes as a team in the win. Mid-Prairie outrebounded the Blue Raiders by 21, had 19 steals while forcing 26 Anamosa turnovers and dished out 17 assists. Brookyln Schneider led the Hawks off the bench with a career high 13 points. Jovi Evans and Nora Pennington each had 10. Callie Huber added 12 boards. With the win, the Hawks improved to 2-1 on the season as Anamosa fell to 0-2.
