Join KCII for our Day of Giving Live Radiothon Wednesday, December 13th from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. We’ll be joined in-studio by local business leaders partnering with KCII for the 21st Annual Caring Christmas Food Drive. You’ll also hear interviews with local food banks and discover why they are important for our community. The Big Red Radio will broadcast live from your Washington Hyvee from 3-5 pm. KCII Station Manager Joe Nichols explains the need for the radiothon, “I think it’s one in thirteen Iowans are suffering from some sort of food shortage or hunger, one in nine are children. So, it affects so many different things from health to how they can do in school, so it just affects every part of your life if you are dealing with a hunger issue. And so our goal has always been to just help to fight that and have neighbors helping neighbors and make our communities in our area even better for everybody.”  For over two decades – along with our listeners and our clients, KCII has provided tens of thousands of dollars in gifts to area food shelves with the “Caring Christmas Radio Food Drive”. We will be broadcasting from 10 to noon and 1 to 5 pm.
