The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard a presentation and fiscal year 2025 funding request from East Central Iowa Council of Governments at their Tuesday meeting. Housing Director Tracey Achenbach gave the presentation, “We serve four counties, Benton, Iowa, Jones, and Washington counties. Each county is represented by two people on the housing trust fund, we’re a 501c3. Our purpose is to help low to moderate income people and it has to be about housing. We make funds available to entities to apply to us, but also we have programs like an emergency repair program, and owner occupied rehab program where we dedicate housing trust fund dollars.” The funding request for fiscal year 2025 is for $23,000, and goes towards the continued development of Washington County housing projects.
