Both Washington Demon basketball teams suffered losses at Williamsburg Saturday. The Washington boys only trailed undefeated Williamsburg by two points at the end of the first quarter and forced a tie game at 31 by halftime. The Demons had a one-point lead heading into the final period, but the Raiders would send the game to overtime and would finish the extra period on a 12-4 run to get a thrilling 77-69 victory that dropped the Demons’ record to 3-5.

The Washington girls fell behind by a score of 19-8 after a quarter of play and could not recover, trailing by 22 points at halftime and falling to state-ranked Williamsburg 65-29. The Demons fall to 5-4.

Both Washington teams will try to bounce back in their last games before winter break when they travel to Fort Madison tomorrow night. You can hear both games between the Demons and the Bloodhounds starting at 5:30 tomorrow evening on 106.1 FM KCII.
