The Washington County Board of Supervisors heard a presentation from the Domestic Violence Intervention Program at their latest meeting. Director of Community Engagement Alta Medea gave the presentation, “In the past year we’ve helped one hundred and twelve individuals. We’ve provided eight hundred and seventy-four services and so, that means everything from safety planning to advocacy with judicial systems or DHS, to providing resources like rent assistance, automobile repairs, or various other types of things to keep victims safe and at work, and their kids in school and getting them all of the needs that they have.” The group also presented a funding request for the amount of $2,000 to continue the work that they do in Washington County.
