waco-3

The WACO Warriors began the second half of the girls’ basketball season with a commanding 61-23 victory over Louisa-Muscatine last night. An 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter grew to double digits by halftime, but it was the 17-8 run to start the second half that put WACO in complete control.

Naomi Egli had a big night for the Warriors by knocking down six three-pointers and scoring a game-high 18 points. Fellow senior Emma Wagler also had 18 points to help WACO improve to 5-3 in conference play and 5-5 overall. The Warriors return to action in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference Friday when they host Pekin.
