The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship released its Weekly Fuel Report on Wednesday.

Statewide, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.79. This is down one cent from last week, and 22 cents from a year ago. This is also significantly less than the national average, which fell three cents to $3.09 on Wednesday.

The retail diesel price in Iowa dropped as well over the last week, with a statewide average of $3.65. This is four cents less than one week ago, 56 cents less than last year, and 33 cents lower than the national average.

For heating fuels, propane prices averaged $1.56 per gallon statewide, home heating oil averaged $3.01 per gallon, and natural gas prices rose 16 cents to $2.67.
