The Keota Community School District is celebrating homecoming this week, with plenty of opportunities for students, staff, and community members to get in on the fun.
Dress-up days began on Monday with Cowboy Day. Tuesday’s theme is Holiday followed by Beach Day on Wednesday. Students are asked to dress for their class theme on Thursday, while Friday wraps up the week with Spirit Day.
Eagle Olympics take place on Thursday afternoon, with grades 7-12 competing head to head in a number of team-oriented games. Friday will be the Pep Rally Assembly which includes the Coronation. Homecoming King candidates include Connor Strand, Evan Vittetoe, Aiden McGuire and Cole Kindred. Queen candidates are Cassie Swantz and Emily Sheetz.
Keota hosts BGM in a pair of basketball games on Friday night, with KCII providing live coverage on the KCII3 Stream beginning at 5:30. The 7-12 Homecoming Dance follows the basketball games and continues until 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per couple or $3 per person.
