keota-fire-department-2

Thanks to a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation, members of the Keota Fire Department are ensuring that they can respond to emergencies as quickly as possible.

The Department was the recipient of $16,816 from the Riverboat Foundation as part of its Fall Grant Cycle. These funds are going towards new digital/analog pagers. With this technology, the Keota Fire Department can be paged directly from Washington County to help maintain a quick response time in the event of a fire or other emergency. Previously, Washington County would need to go through Keokuk County to get the Department paged out.

WCRF gave out 26 grants in the fall of 2023, totaling more than $2.1 million.
