Highland’s Sarah Burton has been one of the top girls’ basketball players in the area the last four years, and she’s continuing to dominate by sitting near the top of many statistical categories this season in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

Burton has pulled down 175 rebounds so far this season, the most in the Super Conference North by over 40. Burton’s 36 blocked shots is also tops in the league, and she is hitting 50.3 percent of her field-goal attempts, the best mark in the conference.

Burton has the second-best free-throw percentage in the Super Conference North, as she’s knocked down 69.7% of her attempts at the charity stripe on her way to the most made and attempted free throws in the league.

The Husky senior also has the fourth-most made shots in the conference on her way to scoring an even 200 points so far this season, third-most in the Super Conference. Burton has powered Highland to a 6-2 league record and an overall mark of 9-3 with the form that helped her become a second-team all-state selection in Class 1A last year.
