In the Weekly Fuel Report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, the price of regular, unleaded gasoline fell two cents, averaging $2.77 across the state. This week’s price is down 39 cents from one year ago. The national average dropped one cent in the last week to $3.08.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell five cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.60. This number was $4.21 last year. The current Iowa diesel price is 35 cents lower than the national average of $3.95.
Heating fuels were on the rise, with propane prices averaging $1.57 per gallon in Iowa, one cent higher than last week. Heating oil was up one cent as well to $3.02 per gallon, while natural gas rose 35 cents, currently priced at $3.02.
