A boil order that went into effect for Columbus City on Monday was lifted on Thursday morning.

The initial order was announced Monday morning for both Columbus Junction and Columbus City after a controller at the water tower froze. While the order was lifted in Columbus Junction on Tuesday, water samples from Columbus City came back yesterday, and were bacteria-free as well.

All residents are now able to use tap water for all purposes, including drinking, brushing teeth, and preparing food.
