It’s an All-KCII area Southeast Iowa Superconference battle Friday when the Hillcrest Academy Ravens host the Lone Tree Lions in a boy/girl basketball doubleheader. The Raven boys are 10-4 this year, 6-3 in the Superconference after a 65-27 win over Highland on the 11th where they were led by Mason Bender’s 20 points. On the season, Hillcrest averages 55 points per game and gives up 42, shooting 46% from the floor, 36% from long range and 62% at the line with 25 boards, 17 assists, 11 steals and 13 turnovers per night. Individual leaders include, Seth Ours at 17 points per game, Bender with five boards per night and Rowan Miller with five assists and three steals per game.

Lone Tree is 5-7 on the season, 2-6 in the Superconference after falling to top ten Winfield-Mt. Union 68-31 on January 5th. On the season, the Lions post 53 points per game and give up 57, shooting 40% from the floor, 26% from three and 54% at the stipe with 27 rebounds, 12 assists, 10 steals and 18 turnovers. Individually, Emmett Burke averages 12 points, five assists and four steals per game. Pietro Setti grabs seven boards per game. These teams met earlier this year with the Ravens taking a 75-57 win.

The Hillcrest girls are 4-10 this season, 1-10 in league play after dropping a 47-38 contest to Highland last time out. On the season, the Ravens average 38 points and give up 43, shooting 28% from the field, 30% from three and 49% at the line with 34 rebounds, nine assists, 12 steals and 20 turnovers per game. Individual leaders include, Claire Withrow at 15 points, Delaney Shaw with 10 boards and Malia Yoder with four steals and three assists per game.

Lone Tree is 12-1 on the season and tied for the conference lead at 8-1 after beating Winfield-Mt. Union 64-46. On the season, the Lady Lions average 56 points per game and give up 32, shooting 33% from the floor, 23% from distance and 49% at the line with 39 boards, 12 assists, 22 steals and 14 turnovers per game. Individually, Finley Jacque goes for 19 points and four steals per game. Alyson Ford grabs nine rebounds per night and Vivian Zaruba dishes three assists per game. Earlier this season Lone Tree beat Hillcrest 58-14, making it eight straight wins in the series. Action gets underway tonight with the girls game at 6p.m. at Hillcrest Union.
