The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Monday this week for their regular meeting. On the agenda was a discussion of the Washington County Wind Ordinance. Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. shared his comments on the ordinance. “The part that talks about the setback, and it talks about inhabited structure setbacks. Itm seems to me kind of a complicated formula of 1.1 times the total height or fifteen-hundred feet, whichever is greater, that’s from inhabited structures. And I do understand that it could be waived if the person that lives there doesn’t mind it being that close.” The board discussed the set-back distance that will be enforced in the ordinance for the turbines from structures and decided on a half mile distance. The board will be having more discussion, and the official readings for the ordinance will be held in future meetings.
