For close to two years now, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Louisa County EMA, the County Roads Department, and Iowa DNR have been dealing with large amounts of dumping or littering in and around Wapello.

What has been found in the past on the five mile lane has recently started showing up on State Street and K Avenue. Public officials and volunteers are picking up similar, small bags of trash usually containing feminine products and cat litter. While it is believed that these bags are coming from the same person or persons, no identifiers have been located in the trash.

It is further believed that this individual or group lives in the northeast section of Wapello. If anyone has information on the person responsible for the trash, contact the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at 319-523-4371.
