Last week, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program (RFIP) Board approved 74 project applications totaling more than $3.4 million in cost-share funding for Iowa fuel retailers. One of those was the HyVee fuel station at 1310 West Burlington in Fairfield, which received more than $26,000.

These RFIP funds will lead to the installation of new ethanol infrastructure which, in turn, will increase Iowans’ access to lower-cost, cleaner-burning E-15. The RFIP helps fuel retailers provide higher blends of homegrown, more affordable biofuels to consumers by incentivising the installation, replacement, and conversion of ethanol and biodiesel dispensing and storage infrastructure.

During this fiscal year, more than $5.4 million of funding has been awarded to 119 biofuel infrastructure projects. To learn more, or to be considered for the next round of grants in April, click here.
