The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team scored a road win at Fairfield Tuesday 65-55. The Hawks doubled up the Trojans through the first eight minutes leading 14-7, but saw Fairfield hang around, down just 28-24 at half. The Trojans tied the game at 43 going to the fourth before the Hawks closed strong, scoring the final 10 to secure the win. Mid-Prairie knocked down nine threes, won the glass 27-21, had 12 team assists, and committed just eight turnovers. Brady Weber’s 15 points were best, followed by 13 each for Ace Peck and Bryce Henry, Dylan Henry added 10 points. Weber also led with six boards and five assists. After the game, Golden Hawk head coach Daren Lambert talked about the takeaways for his team. Lambert said, “Tonight is one of those nights where you get the win because you had eight guys step on the floor and do their job. Ace Peck had 11 points in the first half. Dylan Henry was active defensively. Brady (Weber) did a great job getting to the rim and got a couple of and-ones. Bryce Henry was scoring as well. Brock Harland hit a big three to tie the game at the end of the third. Kurt Schneider and Landon Kos rotating in both had quality minutes. Conner Wiles was doing his thing, getting rebounds and being a physical defender. (After the loss to Tipton) I was proud of their ability to respond as a group.”

The Trojans got a game high 22 points from Riley Perkins. Mid-Prairie is now 11-8 on the year, looking ahead to a Thursday matchup with West Branch. Fairfield falls to 1-18.
