The Washington Demons ended the boys’ basketball regular season by taking a 70-54 defeat to Solon Thursday night. Washington fell behind at home 19-6 in the first quarter, but the Demons rallied by halftime to get within six points of the fourth-ranked team in Class 3A. Unfortunately, Solon went on a 20-8 run in the third period to put the Spartans in command.
Washington suffers an eighth straight loss that drops the Demons to 6-14. Washington now prepares for the postseason, which will start Monday by taking on Clear Creek Amana in the Class 3A Substate 5 quarterfinals. You can hear Demon playoff basketball on 106.1 FM KCII starting Monday night at 6:30.
