A pair of southeast Iowa schools finished their team bowling seasons at state qualifier meets last week. The Sigourney-Keota boys bowling team traveled to Camanche for a 1A meet. The SK boys finished third of seven teams with a 2863 total. The Storm advanced to state as a team, rolling a 2972 on their home alleys. Headliner for the Savages was sophomore Wells Clark who locked up a bid to state, rolling a 658 to place third. Garrett Reynolds of Camanche won the meet championship with a 698. Other SK scores included Brock Alderson 649, Landyn Greiner 606, Liam Van Voltenburg 596, Ty Krueger 534 and Owen Clark 508. Clark will bowl at the 1A State Tournament Wednesday at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo.

The Sigourney-Keota girls were at Davis County for their qualifier, where they placed third in the team race with a 2236 team score. Louisa-Muscatine qualified for state with their championship score of 2783. Top number on the lanes on the day for SK was Jayden Montgomery’s 528 for fifth place, just missing one of the top four qualifying spots. Other scores for the Savages included Addison Richardson 490, Sophie Young 432, Lily Bird 422, Logan Bray 365 and Calli McCold 341.

The Washington Demon Boys were at Davis County for their qualifier where they were fourth of six teams with a 2333 score. Central DeWitt won the team title and bid to state with a 2983. Washington was led by Caleb Zieglowky’s 600 to take fifth place, one spot on the outside looking in for a trip to state in Waterloo. Other Demons included Kellton Burke 21st with 473, Mason Catenaccio 26th with 403, Trevin Sultentich 31st with 378 and Cooper Zahs 35th with 373.

The Washington girls state qualifier meet was also at Davis County in Bloomfield, where the Demons were sixth of six teams with a 986. Top Washington score came from Emma Chenoweth in 12th at 467, Brittany Diveney 19th at 386 and Emma Loeffler 22nd at 368.
