The Washington Demon and Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery teams traveled to Cedar Rapids Prairie earlier this month for one of their final tune-ups before the state meet. The high school Demons finished third in 3D with a 1643 behind champion Prairie’s 1691. Hannah Lipski was fourth for the Washington girls with a 281 including 16 tens. Jace Sanders led the Demon boys in sixth with a 277 and 15 tens. Blaine Hodson was also seventh for the boys. In bullseye, Washington was seventh of nine with a 3237 total, behind champion Prairie’s 3390. Top performers included Hannah Lipski 14th for the girls with a 278 and 15 tens, with Ethen Mesch 19th for the boys at 278 and 13 tens.

The Middle School Demons were fourth of 10 teams in bullseye with a 3157. Mount Vernon won the championship at 3187. Caden Higdon was boys runner-up with a 277 and 12 tens. He was joined the top 10 by Hunter Barnes in ninth. Top finisher for the Washington girls was Aryana Jones 13th with a 264 and eight tens. Washington was sixth of seven schools in 3D with a 1524, Prairie won their home meet with a 1609. Hunter Barnes won the boys championship with his 280 and 16 tens. Sophie Wittmayer was 15th for the Demon girls with a 244 and seven tens.

The Lincoln Demons were team champions in 3D with a 1328 team score, ahead of second place East Buchanan’s 1152. Jayse Thorius was boys runner-up with a 235 and six tens. He was joined in the top ten by Logan Hotchkiss in fourth, Lawson Love sixth, Krew Liska seventh, Gabriel Frost eighth, Louis Mejia ninth and Wyatt Dugger 10th. For the girls, Aaliyah Palacios was third at 220 with three tens. Followed by Kaylee McFarland fifth, Aly Black eighth, and Kenzie Vargas ninth. The Lincoln shooters were team runners-up in bullseye with a 2888 behind Mt. Vernon’s championship score 2941. Aly Black led the Washington girls in third with a 256 and five tens. Kenzie Vargas was 10th. For the boys, Carter Higdon placed third with a 251 and six tens. Other top tens included Gabriel Frost fourth, Wyatt Dugger fifth, Jack Charlier seventh, and Kooper Barnes eighth.

The Mid-Prairie high schoolers were fourth of seven in 3D with a score of 1630. Elijah Statler won the boys title with a 288 and 19 tens. Ava Miller had the top girls marks, taking ninth with a 276 and 14 tens. In bullseye, the Hawks were fifth of nine with a 3268 overall score. Averi Janecek was fifth for the girls with a 283 and 19 tens. Elijah Statler led the boys team in sixth with a 284 and 16 tens.

The Middle School Hawks were fourth of seven in 3D with a 1542. Nickolas Kelley was seventh in the boys contest with 272 and 12 tens. Lara Brenneman led the girls with 249 and four tens for ninth. Mid-Prairie was seventh of 10 in bullseye with a 3044. Nickolas Kelley was boys champion with a 279 and 15 tens. Lara Brenneman was 29th with a 255 and eight tens.

The elementary Hawks did not post team scores. Individually, Blair Northup was best for the Golden Hawk girls in bullseye, fifth with a 245 and five tens. Zander Copping was 24th for the boys with a 228 and four tens. In 3D, Brooklyn Liska was seventh at 184 for the girls and Adric McClellen was 23rd for the boys with a 157 and three tens.
