The Lone Tree Community School District will continue to operate on a five-day calendar following a vote at Wednesday’s regular Board Meeting.

While the District had been mulling over the possibility of transitioning to a four-day week since last December, a motion to approve a four-day calendar failed 2-3. Following this decision, the Board looked at an alternative five-day calendar. This option would offer more built-in professional development time and remove Wednesday early outs, but the 2024-25 calendar has not yet been officially finalized.

The Lone Tree Community School District is the first in the KCII listening area to reject the four-day calendar. A four-day schedule was approved earlier this year by Winfield-Mt. Union and Highland, with Columbus and Keota still collecting data.
