The Washington Demons hosted their fun shoot Saturday at the Demon Den, the final home archery event of the year. The Washington High schoolers swept the team titles, winning bullseye with a 3297 over second place Solon’s 3263 and 3D with a 1650, over Mid-Prairie’s 1649. In bullseye, Washington was led by a fifth place finish for Ethen Mesch with his score of 278 and 14 tens. Other boys top tens included Ethan Hotchkiss sixth, Layne Moore seventh, Chance Haskins eighth, and Jace Sanders ninth. For the girls, Hannah Lipski was ninth with a 278 and 12 tens. Gabrielle Andrew was 10th. In 3D, Gabrielle Andrew was runner-up for the girls with a 281 and 15 tens. Other top ten Demon girls included Avery Marner sixth, and Hannah Lipski seventh. Blake Sheetz led Washington as boys runner-up with a 277 and 17 tens. Other boys top tens included Jace Sanders fifth, Braydon Clough sixth, and Mark Chenoweth eighth.

The Middle School Demons were team champions in 3D with a 1615, ahead of Ottumwa’s 1578. Hunter Barnes was best for the boys, winning the individual championship with a 281 and 16 tens. Other Washington top tens included Zach Hotchkiss third, and Jordan Thorius fourth. For the girls, Lillith Hernandez was fifth at 267 with eight tens. Kirya Coates was ninth and Charlee Read 10th. The Washington Middle School team took second in bullseye at 3160, behind Solon’s 3183. Zach Hotchkiss won the boys individual championship with a 286 and 17 tens. Other Demon top ten boys included Hunter Barnes fifth. For the girls, Charlee Read had the top score, taking fifth with a 268 and nine tens. Eva Torres was eighth and Itzell Calixto was ninth.

The Lincoln Demons also swept the team titles, winning bullseye with a 2875 and 3D with a 1369. The girls bullseye championship belonged to Kenzie Vargas with a 250 and seven tens. Other Washington elementary girls top tens included Aly Black second, Aaliyah Palacios third, Addyson Neer sixth, and Kaylee McFarland seventh. Jayse Thorius led the boys in fourth with a 247 and five tens. Other boys top tens included Gabriel Frost fifth, Carter Higdon seventh, Wyatt Dugger eighth, and Krew Liska 10th.

The Mid-Prairie High School team was second in 3D with a 1649 and third in bullseye with a 3220. Landon Kuenster won the boys 3D championship with a 281 and 15 tens. Other top ten Golden Hawk boys included Elijah Statler third, Johnathon Pickard fourth, and Eli Conrad seventh. For the girls, Averi Janecek was fifth with a 278 and 13 tens. In bullseye, Elijah Statler was third with a 279 and 14 tens. Other top tens for the boys included Landon Kuenster fourth. For the girls, Ava Miller was 18th with a 273 and 10 tens.

The Middle School Hawks were third in the bullseye and 3D team races with scores of 3081 and 1566 respectively. Lael Seale was girls bullseye champion with her 282 and 16 tens. Nickolas Kelley was seventh to lead the boys at 271 and 10 tens. Noah Coblentz was ninth. In 3D, Seale led again, finishing runner-up with a 271 and 11 tens for the girls. The boys were paced by Noah Coblentz sixth with a 268 and 10 tens. Braxton Ropp was ninth and Landon Allen 10th.

The elementary Hawks did not post team scores. They were led individually by boys bullseye runner-up Joshua Seale with a 255 and four tens. Top girls bullseye day came from Blair Northup fifth with a 233 and five tens. Claire O’Connor was eighth. In 3D, Joshua Seale led the boys in third with a 245 and five tens. The girls top round came from Brooklyn Liska ninth with a 160 and one ten. Claire O’Connor was 10th.

The new St. James Elementary team also competed Saturday. They did not post a bullseye team score and were second in 3D with a 933. Misty Mei was eighth to lead the St. James girls in 3D with a 162, Elian Ramirez took 10th for the boys with a 204 and five tens. Harper Keeler was 12th for the girls in bullseye with a 192 and two tens. Caidan Luers was 16th for the boys with a 227 and four tens.
