One hundred eighteen local sharpshooters from Washington and Mid-Prairie will stare down their targets this weekend at the 2024 Iowa State Archery Championships at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
The Demons will have 68 archers in action this weekend. At the high school level the group competing includes Tyler Alderton, Gabrielle Andrew, Lily Brown, Mark Chenoweth, Braydon Clough, Madison Conway, Brooke Feliciano, Johannah Halvorson, Chance Haskins, Emma Helfrich, Blaine Hodson, Ethan Hotchkiss, Hannah Lipski, Avery Marner, Ethen Mesch, Mason Meserole, Landon Messer, Kyann Miller, Layne Moore, Isabelle Reed, Jace Sanders, Blake Sheetz, Ayden Vargas and Kamryn Williams.
For the middle school Demons it’s Emma Alderton, Hunter Barnes, Grant Berdo, Itzell Calixto, Isaiah Halvorson, Tristen Heisdorffer, Jace Helfrich, Lilith Hernandez, Caden Higdon, Zach Hotchkiss, Shamus Johnson, Aryana Jones, Alex McFarland, Mason Pierce, Charlee Read, Braxton Rich, Christopher Richardson, Mason Schneider, Tate Sheetz, Kenzie Thomas, Jordan Thorius, Jaxon Tinnes, Caleb Wise, Sophie Wittmayer, and Kaelyn Wullner.
For the Lincoln Demons it’s Kooper Barnes, Aly Black, Austin Boone, Jack Charlier, Lawson DeWolf, Wyatt Dugger, Gabriel Frost, Grayson Frost, Carter Higdon, Logan Hotchkiss, Krew Liska, Lawson Love, Will Marsden, Kayla McFarland, Lewis Mejila, Addyson Neer, Aaliyah Palacios, Jayse Thorius, Kenzie Vargas and Dante Witham.
Fifty members of the Golden Hawk Archery Club have qualified for the state meet. Representing Mid-Prairie High School will be Tate Bombei, Averi Janecek, Kyla Karnes, Landon Kuenster, Ava Miller, Morgyn Nafziger, Brynn Northup, Blake Peck, Johnathon Pickard, Sophia Puttmann, Milo Sieren, Elijah Statler, Allie Whetstine, Rylee Cady, Eli Conrad, Jacob Debler, Isabelle Frederick, Stella Janecek, Jaiden Lara, Brylee Miller, Madelyn Sieren, Harlee West, Madison Witthoft and Cailtyn Yoder.
