One week from today, construction will resume on a stretch of road just north of Lake Darling. Beginning on Monday, March 18, Dogwood Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from 295th Street north to the existing pavement north of the railroad tracks.
Road work during this time will focus on regrading Dogwood Avenue. Fill material will be placed along the alignment for the new grade, which will eventually provide a new at-grade crossing over the railroad tracks. This work will also help to mitigate flooding from the river, as this will elevate Dogwood Avenue in the river bottom. Weather permitting, the contractor anticipates the project to be complete some time this summer.
