It was a prolific season from downtown for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team. Their 211 made threes were the most ever for a Golden Hawk squad in a single season. That total put them second in Class 2A this year, as did their 10 made threes per game average. The Hawks shot 35.5% as a team from deep, seventh best in Class 2A.
Junior Ace Peck led the Golden Hawk sharpshooters with 74 triples on the year, just nine behind the school record held by Christian Swartzentruber. Peck’s 41.3% connection rate from beyond the arc was third in 2A for those with at least 150 attempts. Five other Golden Hawks knocked down at least 10 threes this year including Bryce Henry with 58, Dylan Henry’s 27, Brady Weber’s 22, Brock Harland’s 15 and Landon Sullivan’s 12.
The Golden Hawks finished with a 12-10 overall record.
