The Mid-Prairie School Board met in regular session on Monday.
Superintendent Brian Stone began with an update on the stadium seating in the Cafeteria. Having received one quote from H2I Group in Cedar Rapids stating it would cost approximately $148,000 to repair the seats and roughly $238,000 to completely replace them. The District is waiting on a second quote.
Following building reports and consent items, the Board reviewed three policies. These were centered around mandatory reporting for child abuse, required professional development for staff, and parental or guardian involvement.
A Request for Proposals was presented for the annual audit. A two-year extension for audit services expires for the district in June. The RFP will be sent to at least 3 firms that specialize in school and government audits. Bids are accepted until May 7, and the Board will make a decision on a firm at their May 14 meeting.
