Earlier this month, Washington resident Anna Banowsky announced her intent to run for District 92 State Representative this November. 

Banowsky moved to Washington in 2023 from Iowa City and is currently a graduate student and teaching assistant at the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Oklahoma. Originally from the State of Washington, Banowsky will be representing the Democratic Party. She will be running against current District 92 Representative, Republican Heather Hora. Hora announced her re-election bid for the Iowa House last month. 

Iowa House District 92 includes all of Washington County and most of southern Johnson County.
