The City of Brighton held a special election on Tuesday to fill a vacant council seat.

Unofficial results show 121 out of the 356 registered voters in the Brighton precinct participated in Tuesday’s election. This includes three absentee votes. The most votes went to write-in Scott Hughes with 59, while Cathy Rich, the only name listed on the ballot, received 57.

These election results will become official following a canvas at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, April 2. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Washington County Courthouse.
