*THIS MEET HAS BEEN POSTPONED*

A pair of KCII area rivals meet on the links in Kalona tonight when the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team entertains the Washington Demons. The Golden Hawk girls are 1-0 on the season after beating Iowa City Regina in their opener a week ago, firing a 189 team score and sweeping the medals, with Gabi Robertson earning medalist honors with a 42 and Madi Davidson medalist runner-up at 45. Other scores included Addison English 49, Elliot Debler 53, Olivia Swartzentruber 55 and Madison Witthoft 61.

Washington had their first scheduled meet of the season rained out Monday, so tonight will serve as their opener. The Demon girls are looking to continue success that sees them riding a streak of nearly a decade of consecutive State Tournament appearances with four State Championships since 2015 in that span, and a third place finish in 3A a season ago. While there are some new faces for the black and orange this spring, back is all-conference performer Maci Williams and team stat leader Adalyn Long with her 45 average per nine. The Demons beat the Golden Hawks in Washington last  year 183-205. Action starts tonight at 4p.m. in Kalona.
