The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, on the agenda was discussion on the Essential Purpose Loan Agreement in a principal amount not to exceed $2,420,000. Supervisor Jack Seward Jr explained the purpose of the loan agreement, “I will say that this action needs to be taken for us to continue the operations that we have, mainly emergency services and emergency communications. It’s something that we cannot do without. And this is something that I feel we have to do.” The loan will be used to purchase the E911 Communications tower, as well as communications systems for multiple county buildings. Replacement of the Wellman county-wide communication tower is needed following damage to the equipment during tornadoes that struck Washington County March 31st of last year.
