The WACO Warrior boys’ track and field team had some strong individual efforts this past Thursday at the Van Buren County Invitational. WACO’s best finish came from junior Louden Huisenga, who took second place in the high jump. Huisenga also helped the Warriors finish runner-up in the shuttle hurdles relay and was fourth in the solo 110-meter hurdles.
Fellow junior Gage Samo took third in the 400 hurdles, as did freshman Hayden Shelman in the long jump. Junior Clayton Miller was one spot behind Shelman in the long jump, while sophomore Kellen Shelman tied for fourth in the high jump. WACO’s 4-by-100-meter relay team finished fourth as well, while the Warriors were fifth in the 4-by-400.
