A new campground is coming to Jefferson County and could be completed as soon as next spring.

Prairie Ridge Campground will be located off Key Blvd. on the east side of Jefferson County Park. This project is made possible by Destination Iowa funds received last March. The County was awarded $450,000, which will cover roughly 39 percent of the project. An additional $440,000 will be added by County Supervisors from their American Rescue Plan Act funds, while Jefferson County Conservation comes up with the balance. The campground will include 14 stalls and full hookups for electricity, water, and waste.

Construction on Jefferson County Park’s Prairie Ridge Campground is expected to begin this summer.
