The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was the Engineers report of the proposed 140th street Secondary Road Assessment District. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius gives more information on the assessment, “Petition for a secondary road assessment district on 140th street, east of Vine Ave. There is a request to pave the first quarter mile just past the entrance to Stone Ridge Estates, and then do an improvement to the gravel road for the next approximate half mile, was the petition. The land owners are proposing to pay fifty percent of the cost over ten years with no interest.” The petition included 93 parcels, with 71 in agreement and 13 opposed to the assessment district. The public hearing has been set for May 16th at 7 pm in the Washington County Courthouse.
