Kalona residents should be aware that the City’s hydrants will be flushed this week. 

Fire hydrant flushing starts in town on Tuesday, April 16 and continues through Friday, April 19. The hydrants in SouthTown and Richmond will be flushed the following week. Expect crews to be working from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Residents may also experience low water pressure and/or water discoloration. Although this water is safe to consume, it could stain laundry for anyone running the washing machine while hydrants are being flushed.
