A couple of local track and field teams put together solid efforts Saturday at the Iowa City West meet. That includes the Mid-Prairie girls, who were led by freshman Brooklyn Stutzman’s second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run.

Emma Lueck was third in the long jump for the Golden Hawks, as was sophomore Jovi Evans in the 100 meters, while fellow seniors Greta Sieren and Paige Safly were fifth in the 800 and tied for fourth in the high jump, respectively.

Junior Emmett Swartzentruber was a runner-up in the 3,200 for the Mid-Prairie boys, while teammate and classmate Jayse Yoder took fourth in the 800 and fellow junior Burke Berry was fifth in the shot put.

Senior Kaden Amigon finished fourth in both the 100 and the long jump while representing the Columbus boys. Freshman Bella Forbes was seventh in the shot put for the Wildcat girls. Lone Tree earned the silver medal in the girls’ 4-by-200-meter relay, and the Lions were also fifth in the sprint medley.
