The Keota Eagles edged out the Sigourney Savages in a boys’ golf quadrangular Monday at Sigourney Golf Club. Keota’s team score of 161 strokes didn’t outpace the Savages by much, but the Eagles would end up three strokes ahead of second place and 13 less than third-place Montezuma.

Senior Cole Kindred and junior Billie Kindred had the top scores for Keota and finished tied for third overall by each shooting a three-over par round of 39. Senior Sawyer Stout was tied for sixth with a 41 for the Eagles, while freshman Brennan McGuire was eighth individually with a 42 and seniors Tanner Waterhouse and Conner Strand each shot 45 to just miss the top 10.

Sigourney sophomore Solon Yates was the individual runner-up after finishing with a one-over 37. Freshman teammate Ike Molyneux was part of the tie for sixth after shooting 41, while senior Brock Alderson’s 42 made him part of the tie for eighth and junior Issac Bruns rounded out the top 10 with a 44. Junior Cain Weber and sophomore Josh Wyatt added rounds of 46 and 53, respectively, for the Savages.
