A pair of KCII area boys golf teams travel to Stone Creek Golf Course in Williamsburg today for the Raider Invitational. The Mid-Prairie boys have been off since their home invitational on April 9th, where they finished second of eight teams with an overall 18 score of 344, led by top ten rounds of 82 from Drew Schlabaugh for fourth and 84 for Grayson Gingerich in seventh. On the season, the Golden Hawks have a team average of 172 per nine with a 166 low and a 344 average per 18. They are led on nine by Clayton Davidson’s 40, followed by Bryce Henry and Schlabaugh both at 44. Schlabaugh, Gingerich and Denver Nelson have all broken 90 on rounds of 18 this year.
Keota last played Monday, where they won a South Iowa Cedar League quad at Sigourney with their score of 161, beating Montezuma, North Mahaska and the home Savages. The Eagles were led by Cole and Billie Kindred with matching 39s. On the year, the Eagles have a team average of 167 per nine with a 161 low score. They shot 325 as a team in their lone 18 hole event. Cole Kindred leads the way with a nine hole average of 40, followed by Sawyer Stout and Tanner Waterhouse at 42, Billie Kindred 43, Brennan McGuire 46 and Conner Strand 47. Cole Kindred leads the way per 18 at 78, followed by Stout and McGuire both at 82.
Other teams competing including Anamosa, Benton, Clear Creek Amana, Mount Vernon, Newton, Oskaloosa and the home Raiders. Action starts at 11a.m. and continues this afternoon and evening in Williamsburg.
