The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls track teams take the oval tonight for their next action. The Golden Hawk girls are back at the friendly confines of Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman for their only home meet of the year, while the boys travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg. Both teams ran last at the Williamsburg Raider Invite Monday.

The Golden Hawk girls were fifth of 17 schools with 63.5 points. Top Mid-Prairie finishes included Emma Lueck second in long jump, Danielle Hostetler second in the 3000, and Abby Fleming second in the 1500. Other standout events included Fleming third in the 3000, third for the shuttle hurdle team of Sophie Miller, Olivia Schlabach, Nora Pennington and Behla Schmidt, Paige Safly fourth in high jump, fourth for Schmidt in the 100 hurdles, fifth for Phoebe Shetler in the 1500, and fifth for the 4×100 team of Dakota Mitchell, Myli Hershberger, Lueck and Safly. The girls are joined tonight in Wellman by Alburnett, Fairfield, Mediapolis, Pekin, West Branch, West Liberty and Williamsburg. Action starts at 4:15 and continues into the evening at Dwight G. Sattler Field.

The Mid-Prairie boys were 14th at Williamsburg with 12 points. High marks for the Hawks included Josh Turner fourth in high jump and Landon Sullivan fourth in long jump.  Area school Sigourney also makes the trip to EBF with the Hawks tonight. The Savages were last in action at WACO Monday where the leaders included Troy Klett winning the two-mile and finishing second in the 800, Caden Clarahan winning the 110 hurdles and finishing fifth in the shot put, Colt Reed was fifth in the 100 and Owen Menke fifth in the 110 hurdles with the Sigourney shuttle hurdle and distance medley teams taking second. The Hawks and the Savages will be joined tonight by BGM, Cardinal, Davis County, English Valleys, Fairfield, HLV, Iowa Valley, Mediapolis, Mt. Pleasant, North Mahaska, Williamsburg and the home Rockets. Action starts at 4:30p.m. and continues into the evening at EBF High School.
