As part of a busy day in Southeast Iowa Super Conference golf, the Lone Tree Lions defeated the Highland Huskies in a boys’ dual Monday at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.

Lone Tree’s team score of 208 strokes was seven less than Highland, thanks in part to sophomore Cade Willoz’s team-low round of 12-over-par 48. Senior Dominic Graap and junior Jack Patterson also each shot 51 for the Lions, while junior teammate Lukas Furhmeister finished with 58.

The Huskies were led by junior Colton Sypherd, who was the meet medalist with a seven-over 43. Junior Will Dunbar fired a 54 for the Huskies, with freshman teammate Issac Giesmann only two strokes behind him.

While there was no team competition, the Highland girls did produce the meet medalist in senior Kelsi Cerny, who shot 48. Sophomore Emersyn Schultz finished with 53 and junior Danika Kraus posted a 56 for the Huskies, while the Lone Tree girls were led by senior Mia Bauwens’ 73.

The Columbus Wildcats would come up short in a conference dual with Wapello, finishing with a team score of 213 that was 27 strokes more than the Indians.

Columbus was led by senior Cael Phillips, who shot an even 50, while junior teammate Ryan Coil had 53 and senior Cole Storm and sophomore Kason Dopler each finished with 55 for the Wildcats.

The WACO girls shot 306 as a team and finished a little more than a hundred strokes back of Louisa-Muscatine, with sophomore Morgan Meyer’s 66 leading the way.
