The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys and girls golf teams are back on the course tonight at Cedarcrest in Columbus Junction when they face off with the Falcons of Louisa-Muscatine. Both Hillcrest squads last played Tuesday at Lagos Acres in Keota as part of a tri meet with Keota and English Valleys. The Raven boys were third with their team score of 188. Raven leader was Rowan Miller with his meet medalist round of 39. Other Hillcrest scores included 42 for Liam Schrock, 52 for Matthew Chalupa, 55 for Ethan Yoder, 62 for Phoenix Anderson and 68 for Rylan Good. The Hillcrest girls shot a season low 253 to claim the team win over the Eagles and Bears. Best Hillcrest round came from Brynna O’Rourke with a 60 to finish third. Other Hillcrest scores included Ava Miller 62, Maria Portillo 65, Claire Withrow 66 and Natalie Meganathan and Izzy Frederick with 70 each.

On the season, the Raven boys have a team nine-hole average of 179 with a 174 low and a 366 18-hole average with a 357 low. Miller is the team average leader at 37 and 81 for nine and 18 respectively. Schrock is second for nine at 43 and Ours is second for 18 at 90. The Raven girls have a team nine-hole average of 352 with a 257 low. Individual leaders are Claire Withrow at 77, followed by Izzy Frederick 81.

The Louisa-Muscatine boys and girls last played Tuesday at Blue Top Ridge at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. The Falcon boys got by Lone Tree 237-240, led by Colton Laymon’s medalist round of 49. For the girls it was a triangular in Riverside against the Lady Lions and BGM Bears where they got the win with a 207 team score led by Madison Bieri and Jadyn Snyder’s 48s. On the year, the Falcon boys have a nine hole team average of 242 with a 231 low and an 18-hole team average and low of 456. They are led individually by Laymon’s 50 average per nine and Jack Machlan at 55, while the same two lead for 18 with 99 and 116 averages respectively. For the girls, they hold a 206 team average per nine with a 195 low and a 423 average per 18 with a 420 low. They are led individually by Bieri on nine with a 46 average and Snyder at 51. For 18 it’s Bieri at 85 and Kyley Wagler at 108.

Last year, the Raven boys won this dual 174-201 with Liam Schrock’s 43 the best score returning for either side. This is the first meeting for these girls teams since 2013. Action starts tonight at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at Cedarcrest in Columbus Junction.
