Earlier this year, the Washington Community School District conducted Radon testing across various facilities, including the ​Stewart Preschool, High School, ​Central ​Office, and ​Bus ​Barn. Regulatory obligations mandate testing at the preschool every two years, while other buildings are tested on a four-year rotation. Results were satisfactory across all sites except the bus barn, where levels exceeded acceptable limits. Consequently, the school district has implemented and completed a mitigation system at the bus barn to address this issue​.
