Months of planning, fundraising, and renovations come to fruition tomorrow as the Winfield Food Pantry is hosting an Open House.

The Winfield Food Pantry officially moved into its new location at 107 East Elm Street in March. Before that could happen, significant work was needed on the building. Thanks to the help of fundraising efforts and grants from such organizations as the Washington County Riverboat Foundation and Enhance Henry County Community Foundation, the site is complete roughly one year after it was acquired. Linda Mullen, who has worked closely with the pantry over the last year, tells KCII that the wait was worth it. “We just had to be patient, and in God’s timing all things were going to come together.”

The Winfield Food Pantry Open House is open to all from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
