It’s a pair of River Valley Conference duals Monday for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams when they meet West Liberty.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 22-4 this year and ranked No. 7 in Class 2A in the latest rankings from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. Thursday, they won the eight-team Durant Invitational, with an overall score of 384 for 18 holes as a team, led by four top ten finishes including Madi Davidson fourth with a 90, Morgyn Bender fifth at 97, Addison English seventh at 98 and Elliot Debler eighth at 99. On the year, the Hawks have a team nine hole average of 198 with a low of 189 and a team 18 hole average of 378 with a 370 low. Individually, Gabi Robertson leads with her 47 average per nine, followed by Davidson at 48. For 18, Davidson has a team best 80 average, followed by Robertson’s 95 and English and Bender 97. Currently Davidson is ranked No. 24, Robertson is No. 34, and English is No. 50 in the IAHSGCA individual poll.

The West Liberty girls are 6-15 this year and ranked No. 18 in Class 2A by the Coaches Association. They were also at Durant last week where they were fifth with a 429 team score, led individually by Kamryn Gilmore’s 97. For the year, the Comets have a 216 team nine hole average with a 203 low, and a 454 team 18 hole average with 428 low. Individually, Gilmore’s 50 average leads the way on nine and her 98 average is best on 18. Gilmore is the lone Comet in the top 50 of this week’s individual 2A poll, checking in at No. 48.

The Mid-Prairie boys were a winner in their last action Thursday when they took down Wilton in a River Valley Conference dual, 167-196. The Hawks swept the medals with Ace Peck’s winning round of 37 and Denver Nelson’s runner-up 41. On the year, the Hawks have a team nine hole average of 170, with a 166 low and a team 343 average and low. Individual leaders on nine are Drew Schlabaugh and Nelson with a 44 average, Ace Peck at 45 and Clayton Davidson, Grayson Gingerich and Bryce Henry all at 46. On 18 it’s Schlabaugh at 80 and Gingerich at 87 to lead. Schlabuagh is ranked No. 36 individually this week in the last Golf Coaches Association Poll.

West Liberty is 21-12 on the year. The Comets were second in a quad invite Thursday at West Branch with a 342 team score for 18, led by Cael Daufeldt’s 77. They are ranked No. 24 in 2A this week by the Iowa Association of Golf Coaches. This season, they have a team average of 173 per nine with a 165 low and a 346 average on 18 with a 342 low. Cael Daufeldt and Perry Lehman are the leaders with 41 averages per nine holes while Cole and Cael Daufeldt both have 83 averages per 18. West Liberty beat the Hawks head to head last year 171-185. Henry had the low round for the Hawks at 44. Action in both duals starts tonight at 4p.m. with the girls in West Liberty and the boys at Kalona.
