The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams renew their rivalry with Iowa City Regina tonight, taking on the Regals in a pair of River Valley Conference matches. The Golden Hawk boys enter the fray with a 6-4 overall record after a 2-1 Monday win at Tipton where they led by a goal and an assist for Hugo Banuelos, a goal for Dylan Henry, an assist for Tucker Miller and 13 saves in goal from Joe Hall. On the year, the Hawks have outscored their opponents 17-14 in total, with 169 total shots, 77 on goal, 45 corner kicks, 13 assists and 76 saves with an 84% team save percentage. Individual leaders include, Beau Flynn with four goals, Tucker Miller with three assists and Joe Hall with 58 saves and an 85% save percentage.

The Regina boys are 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the RVC after a Catholic Cup Championship Saturday where they took down Council Bluffs St. Albert and Davenport Assumption by matching 1-0 scores. The Regals are currently ranked No. 1 in Class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Athletic Association. This season, they have outscored their opponents 44-5 in total with 115 shots, 47 corners and 32 assists. Individual leaders include Quinn Warren with nine goals and five assists. Jack Hoover and Evan White also have five assists. The Regals have won five in a row over Mid-Prairie in the series including a 6-1 victory last season. The Hawks last win came in 2015.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 6-3 this year, 3-2 in the River Valley Conference after a 2-1 win at Tipton in PKs Monday. On the year, the Hawks been outscored 22-18 in total with 116 shots, 59 on goal, 35 corners, seven assists and 135 saves with an 86% team save percentage. Individually, Elise Gingerich leads with 10 goals. She and Zoey Curtiss each have two assists and in goal, Niva Helmuth has 90 saves with an 84% save percentage.

Iowa City Regina is 5-5 this season, including a 2-1 loss to West Liberty on Friday. The Regals have been outscored this year 29-26 in total with 171 shots, 86 on goal, 32 corner kicks, 16 assists and 95 saves with a 77% save percentage. Individually, Natalie Gahan has seven goals, Gabby Sueppel five assists and Maggie Sueppel 44 saves with a 77% save percentage. Regina has won 11 straight in this series including a 5-1 victory last season. Both matches start tonight at 5p.m. with the boys in Iowa City and the girls in Wellman.
