At approximately 2:35 a.m. Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service Quad Cities office issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of Keokuk, Washington, and Jefferson counties in the KCII listening area until 3:15 a.m.

Spotter-indicated threats with these storms included 60 mph winds in Wapello and Marshall counties. Additionally, one half inch of rainfall was reported in Rose Hill and Delta in southern and western Keokuk County.

At approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, another Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued, this time for portions of Washington, Louisa, Henry, and Johnson counties in the KCII listening area until 4:30 a.m.

Spotter-indicated threats with these storms included inch-in-diameter hail near the Washington and Johnson county line. Rainfall totals included 1.3 inches in Washington and 1.5 inches in Riverside.

Three members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team provided live coverage on the air. Had the power gone out, coverage would have continued with KCII’s backup generator. The one to count on for up-to-the-minute severe weather coverage is AM and FM KCII.
