The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday. On the agenda was the quarterly report from Washington County Secondary Roads. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius gave the report, “We replaced a variety of pipe last fall, did a lot of work to prep everything for the winter. Over 14,000 tons of rock last fall, most of that in October as we try to wind down for winter coming. There wasn’t much construction last fall, the biggest thing we did was we replaced the multi-plate there on 190th st, and had issues with it this spring, unfortunately. We did three snow removal operations last quarter at the end of the year, roughly $36,000 in expenses.” The report for the first quarter of 2024 will be coming during the next month. Along with different construction projects and gravel distribution, other important notes from Thorius’ report included twenty-nine different non-departmental vehicle repairs with the cost of $6,800, and they will be looking to hire a new equipment operator.
