KCII News spoke with US Senator Chuck Grassley about the recent impacts Iowa has faced with severe weather. When asked about the expedited relief, Grassley had this to say, “The Congressional Delegation a week ago sent a letter to the President, requesting that the President approve it. I don’t know why it’s taken so long, and for the people in Pottawattamie County that have been harmed by all these tornadoes, are really distraught about it taking so long.” The relief was granted to the counties that were greatly affected by severe weather April 26th. FEMA and other government agencies will now make assistance available to residents in those areas.
